Project Team
- Technical University of Sofia Team (applying organization)
- Angel Kanchev University of Ruse Team
- Prof. Dr Assen Zlatarov University - Burgas Team
The institutions involved in the project are the Technical University - Sofia, as a basic organization, two partner universities - University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” and University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" - Burgas, as well as scientists from the University of Žilina - Faculty of Management and Economics of Transport and Communications, Slovakia, affiliated to the basic organization.
The project coordinator is Prof. DSc Svetla Stoilova from the Faculty of Transport at the Technical University of Sofia.
The team consists of 19 participants, 5 of whom are PhD students, i.e. young scientists, 3 post-doctoral students and 4 scientists from abroad. Overall, 42% of the project team are young scientists, post-doctoral students and PhD students.
The team of TU - Sofia includes scientists and PhD students from the Faculty of Transport - Department of Railway Engineering and Department of Engines, Vehicles and Transport, as well as two scientists from the University of Žilina, Slovakia.
The team of the partner organization - University "Angel Kanchev"-Ruse” is made up of scientists and PhD students from the Faculty of Transport and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation.
The team of the partner organization University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov "- Burgas comprises lecturers and post-doctoral students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Department of Transport Technology and Technologies.
The participation of the three universities in the team of specialists, as well as the attraction of scientists from abroad for individual participation in the project, is dictated by the need to bring together a wider range of researchers to conduct fundamental scientific research. In this way, it will be possible to pool the knowledge of the individual scientists and to apply the systematic approach for solving specific tasks. Each team has a specific research area in which it has a leading edge and this knowledge and experience can be fully utilized within the entire team.
Technical University – Sofia and University "Angel Kanchev"- Ruse have experience of participating in a partnership for the development of research projects and conducting research. Some of the members of the team participated in a joint team from both universities on a project funded by the National Science Fund (2010-2013) related to the application of an advanced communications system for energy efficiency of road trains in Highway conditions, which was successfully completed. The work on this project marked the beginning of the cooperation with the University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov "- Burgas.
The integration of specialists to work on the project provides an opportunity to develop a scientific network on the issues of efficient transport technologies.
